Employees of the Vake-Saburtalo Main Division of the Tbilisi Police Department of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested three individuals at different times on charges of illegally acquiring, possessing narcotic substances in especially large quantities, and assisting in their sale. Two of those detained are citizens of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia reported.
“During searches of the suspects’ personal belongings and temporary residences in Tbilisi, as well as in various locations, law enforcement officers seized as evidence narcotic substances in especially large quantities prepared for distribution — alpha-PVP and mephedrone.
Police also seized materials used for the packaging of narcotic substances.
The investigation is being conducted under Articles 260 and 260¹ of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provide for punishment in the form of up to 20 years’ imprisonment or life imprisonment,” the statement said.
